Here are some of my latest pieces, done for a large installation in NY at Lagond Music School. Enjoy..
I am an internationally recognized artist who, through my work, seeks to utilize various harmonies and ideas to visually engage the audience. I also use my art as an opportunity to experiment with the range of possibilities allowed through my choice of materials, spray paint and hand cut stencils.
My work captures spaces of partial or full illumination between the perfect shadows on all sides of a person or an object. The artwork conveys the real beauty of the subject. The viewer is able to appreciate the simplicity, splendor and exquisiteness of my work and the subject. The work is raw, it’s stripped back, it’s honest.
I am vehemently opposed to using art as a means to rely on overly-complex theories or ideas to prop up mediocre images. I believe that the quality of the actual work is what is paramount.

I love the moods you are creating with your paintings. The pictures of people are showing the true beauty of our humanity: the smile and joy of the woman with curly hair; the dreamy mood of the woman at the window; the focus of the musician; the woman with a trumpet, giving her attention to someone she might have just noticed, and maybe is saying “hello” to; the little girl with such an intelligence and exposure in the way she relates to her world, whatever she is looking at in the moment you captured. It’s beautiful. And I love the way you use light. Thank you for your work! It’s soul nurturing to look at your art.
beautiful – will check out your etsy shop!

Hey Ray! Loving the Stencils, as a lover of dramatic contrast I totally get this! I understand that your trying to get supporters but the ‘support’ button on the see.me website is not responding I’ve clicked it several times. I think you’ll need to get in touch with the site managers to sort it out. I am totally for your work completely, I might even give stenciling a go!

Fascinating technique! As someone whose eyes are extra-sensitive to light, I’m always extra-observant of shadows and contrasts, so your work is really amazing to me! Keep it up!

I cannot imagine how you get this from a stencil. ? Really amazing work!
I must say I am impressed that you hand cut your stencils, very impressive. Do you use your stencil scraps for anything or just toss them? Lastly, what have you found is the best way to promote your work? Thanks. Have a good day.
Usually just toss them. As far as marketing goes, I do a lot for charity and a lot of exhibitions. I’ll travel anywhere for art.
Brilliant work, and congratulations for the billboard!

The pic on the right is very expressive. It pours out a great deal of emotion. It is amazing how a simple pose can be manifested to so much more because of the presence of light, and dark, or the cast of a shadow. Great pic.
